Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

Here are some of the most common queries we receive about our Talking Trash skip bin hire services.

If you don’t see your question here, give us a call! We’re always happy to chat.

  • What size skip bin do I need for a typical house clean-out?

For a standard house clean-out, including unwanted furniture, appliances, and general household clutter, our 4-Meter Cubic Bin is usually the best choice. It provides ample space to get rid of everything in one go. If you’re just clearing out a single room or doing a bit of spring-cleaning, our 3-Meter Cubic Bin might be all you need. Not sure? Give us a call, and we'll help you choose the right size!

  • What can and can’t go in the skip bins?

Our skip bins are perfect for a wide range of household waste, including:

    • Furniture
    • Appliances
    • General household rubbish
    • Green waste (excluding large quantities of soil and rocks)
    • Renovation debris (excluding concrete and asbestos)

    However, we cannot accept:

    • Asbestos
    • Mattresses
    • Concrete
    • Hazardous materials
    • Tyres

Have any questions about specific items? Just ask!

  • What areas do you service?

We’re a locally owned and operated business, proudly serving the Mornington Peninsula. We cover areas from Frankston down to Seaford and out to Rosebud. Living in a nearby suburb? Get in touch, and we’ll see if we can help!

  • How much does it cost to hire a skip bin?

Our prices are competitive and vary depending on the bin size and hire duration. We're committed to offering transparent pricing, so you’ll never be hit with hidden fees. Give us a call or drop us an email for a free quote tailored to your needs. We also offer discounts for pensioners, loyal customers, and those who live locally!

  • What’s the standard hire period?

Our standard hire period is three days, giving you plenty of time to sort and dispose of your unwanted items.

  • Can I get an extension on the hire period?

Absolutely! We understand that sometimes you need a bit more time. Extensions are available for an additional fee, subject to bin availability. Just let us know before your hire period ends, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Can I move the skip bin myself once it's been delivered?

For insurance reasons, only our trained staff are permitted to move the skip bins. We'll carefully position the bin in a convenient location on your property during drop-off, and we'll take care of the removal when you're finished.

  • Are you cheaper than taking my waste to the tip myself?

Hiring a skip bin from TalkinTrash is often more cost-effective than multiple trips to the tip, especially when you factor in:

    • Tip fees
    • Fuel costs
    • Vehicle hire (if needed)
    • Your valuable time!

Let us handle the hassle of waste removal while you focus on the important things.

  • How do I book a skip bin?

Easy! Just give us a call. We prefer phone bookings so we can chat about your needs and ensure you choose the right bin for the job. We'll need to know:

    • What you're getting rid of
    • What size bin you think you need
    • Your preferred drop-off date and time
    • Where you’d like the bin placed on your property

We look forward to hearing from you and helping you get rid of your rubbish the right way!
